Micrographs : Ferrite II
Ferrites are used to control electromagnetic fields, for example in mobile phone communications. The properties of ferrites are influenced by both their composition and differences in their structure such as grain size and porosity.
This Ferrite was fired at 1350°C. It has a coarser grain size in comparison to Ferrite I, as the higher temperature has assisted sintering (joining) of the grains and grain growth by diffusion.
